The Great Coal Strike of 1949

Catholic Action At Work
This booklet from 1945 contains a warning from the ACP about the workings of reactionary trade union groups directed by the Catholic Church. They sought to prevent the Communists from leading militant defence of workers’ interests, to shore up the position of employers and to impose conservative social values. This anti-worker force continues to plague the labour movement.
Death & Dividends
Published by the Broken Hill Branch of the Communist Party in 1933, “Death and Dividends” reveals the life threatening diseases that many miners faced, the brutal deaths due to poor safety conditions and the extreme amount of profit that the mine-owners earned while the workers perished.
Democracy For Whom?
A brilliant pamphlet authored by Lance Sharkey explains the democratic processes of the Soviet Union, the unjustified defamatory allegations of starvation and the painting of Comrade Stalin as a dictator likening him to Mussolini and Hitler during and pre-WW2.
